I split the shapes created on my surrounding canvases into two for use with the magnetic board. This is because I want people to either create chaos (which they cannot do if all the pieces are already in one shape) or to retain order in line with the canvas pieces. This gives the user more freedom when using the shapes to create whatever random patterns they like.
